What you get, and what you don't
The tool expands your seed through Google Autocomplete in eight frames: the plain term, question forms (how, why, can), comparisons (vs), and qualifiers (for, without, best). Everything returned is a real phrasing Google has seen people type; that's the point. What you don't get is search volume numbers: those come from paid data resellers, and every "free" tool showing volumes is either estimating or upselling. Real phrasings without volumes beat guessed volumes for deciding what to write, because a page targets a phrasing, not a number.
How to use the output
- Questions are content ideas. Each "how / why / can" phrasing is a page or section someone is asking for.
- "vs" phrasings are comparison pages with strong commercial intent.
- Qualifier phrasings ("for", "without", "best") show segments: audiences and constraints worth their own page.
- Write one page per specific phrasing, then watch what Google auditions it for: our long-tail field notes show that loop measured on a brand-new site.
Why free
Autocomplete data costs us fractions of a cent to fetch, and keyword
ideas are the start of the loop our paid products serve: you write the
page, you check it's indexed,
and if it isn't, indexing is what our service
fixes. Need more than 5 a day? A free
rank.fast account raises the
limit to 25, and the same tool is available inside Claude via our
connector (https://app.rank.fast/api/mcp).
